Chad V. Theriot is a partner and a member of the firm’s board of directors. He focuses on major public and commercial programs and advises domestic and international clients across a broad spectrum of procurement, manufacturing, and contracting activities. He represents federal government contractors and suppliers, and original equipment manufacturers in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
Prior to law school, Mr. Theriot worked as a claims consultant quantifying schedule delay, disruption, acceleration, and productivity impacts to the various government aerospace contractors’ MRO operations related to the KC- 135, the Lockheed C-130 Hercules, and various other fixed-wing and rotarywing aircraft.
As an attorney for more than 20 years, Mr. Theriot has focused on claim avoidance and dispute resolution in the manufacturing and aerospace sector. Mr. Theriot currently represents clients around the globe in various sectors, including defense and aerospace. He has disputes before the ICC, AAA, federal and state courts, and the LCIA involving both international and domestic disputes.
He recently represented an international aerospace supplier in the recovery of cost overruns to its operations of approximately USD 130 million in the manufacture of jet fighter wings and forward fuselages as a result of defective jigs, tools, loss of configuration control, supply chain impacts, labor shortages and material escalation. He has also represented an international aerospace products and defense parts manufacturer regarding disputes arising from the performance of a maintenance contract for the US Navy's aircraft.
Mr. Theriot has extensive experience before all boards of contract appeals, the Court of Federal Claims, and the Federal Circuit representing government contractors against various agencies, including the US Air Force, US Navy, US Coast Guard, US Army Corps of Engineers, GSA, VA, and other federal agencies.
